I DON’T USE WORDPRESS. CAN I STILL USE PODCAST CONTACT FORM?
No. You must have a WordPress website that allows you to install plugins, and a PHP version number of 5.6.XX or higher in order to use Podcast Contact Form. Did you know that your website’s PHP version should be updated for security and performance reasons? Read more here http://php.net/supported-versions.php.
I DIDN’T RECEIVED MY DOWNLOAD AFTER PURCHASE WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Sometimes the email containing the Podcast Contact Form file is mistakenly caught by a spam filter. Check your spam folder first and if it’s been several hours and you haven’t seen your email, just send us an email using our contact form or email – support at podcastcontactform.com.
WHEN INSTALLING THE PLUGIN WHY DO I GET A FATAL ERROR MESSAGE?
You are using an outdated version of PHP, WordPress or both. There are free resources that will help you check your PHP version number. You can click here for a free WordPress plugin that allows you to display your PHP version number right by the WordPress version number in your WordPress dashboard. Podcast Contact Form has been tested with older versions of PHP (5.6.xx) but works best with updated versions 7 or greater. ***Note: for security and performance reasons you should always run the newest version of PHP that your web host allows.
HOW DO I UPDATE TO THE LATEST VERSION?
Updates are automatically pushed out every time there’s a new release. In the admin panel of your WordPress installation you will receive a notification that you need to update. If for any reason you are not notified please contact us through our contact form or email support at podcastcontactform.com.
WHY DOESN’T PODCAST CONTACT FORM WORK WITH ALL MOBILE & DESKTOP BROWSERS?
Not all browsers support the Web Audio API. Click here for for a list of browsers that do. Web Audio can be impacted by other factors such as a user’s default microphone setting. Their microphone must be set as the default recording input device.
SOME VOICE MESSAGES I RECEIVE HAVE AUDIO DEGRADATION (CLICKS AND POPS) WHY?
Web Audio is taxing on some devices. Buffering issues can cause clicks and pops in the audio. Not all devices will be able to record great audio though their browser.
WHY DO I RECEIVE SILENT AUDIO FILES (FILES THAT SHOW A DURATION BUT HAVE NO AUDIO)?
Certain web browsers do not support Web Audio. The person who recorded the file doesn’t have the mic they used set as the default (e.g. Bluetooth headset)
WHERE CAN I FIND MY AUDIO FILES IF I DIDN’T RECEIVE AN EMAIL?
In the admin panel of your WordPress dashboard click on the link that says Media or Media Library. All WAV files are stored in there until you delete them.
WHERE CAN I SEE A COPY OF THE CONTACT FORM SUBMISSIONS IF I DIDN’T RECEIVE AN EMAIL?
In the admin panel of your WordPress dashboard click the link that says Podcast Contacts. You must have “Store submissions in the database” enabled for this to work. (Audio files will appear in your “Media Library”).
HOW DO I DELETE OR DISABLE THE PODCAST CONTACT FORM PLUGIN?
- Log in to the WordPress admin area of your website.
- Click the “Plugins” link in the sidebar.
- Locate the Podcast Contact Form plugin.
- Click “Deactivate” underneath the plugin.
- Click “Delete” to delete the plugin completely.
